Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sofer is an American
actressand model, well-known for her roles on daytime TV, guest appearances and
made-for-television films. Sofer won the Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for her
character Lois Cerullo on the soap opera General Hospital. She has been
portraying Quinn Fuller since 2013 on CBS The Bold and the Beautiful, a soap
production The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was the daughter of Susan Sofer (a
psychologist professor) and Martin Sofer (a Conservative rabbi). Following the
divorce of her parents, her family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1970,
Sofer moved with her brother David and her father to Teaneck in New Jersey.
They lived in Western Pennsylvania when Sofer was five years old. The family
was based in Ambridge Pennsylvania where their father was the director of Beth
Samuels Jewish Center. Then, she went to the Frisch School in Paramus, New
Jersey, which is co-educational Mordern Orthodox Jewish high-school. Sofer was
raised in North Bergen where her father was the synagogue's Rabbi Temple Beth
El. After graduating from North Bergen High School she went on to Montclair
State College. Sofer played Lois Marie Cerullo for the first time on General
Hospital. She first appeared in 1993 as a manager for an ensemble. Her first
major role was as Rocky McKenzie in the daytime soap show Loving (1988-91).
Sofer is most likely best known for her portrayal of Lois Cerullo on General
Hospital (December 15 1993 - September 24, 1996). Later, she was a guest star
on the show (February 7-17 1997 September 30th to October 2nd 1997). In 1995,
Sofer won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama
Series for her performance in the role of Lois. Sofer was cast in CBS' soap
opera The Bold and the Beautiful as Quinn Fuller, a role she created just. The
first episode aired in July 2013. Sofer has appeared as a guest
actor/supporting cast member in a several high-profile primetime TV shows,
including Seinfeld and Melrose Place. Her debut episode aired July 12.
