Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Anne W. Burrell hosts on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and its culture as well as the environment. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love of cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of kids facing challenges. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. She talks about her culinary love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as speakers and mentors. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of her life, sharing her cooking skills with other people.
